Having long been a men's fashion staple since introduced by Burberry back in 1901, the trench coat still occupies its own impenetrable niche in men`s fashion.  This season shows no difference in the affinity for trench coats, but as fabrics and styles update, so must this classic piece.  Shorter lengths and lighter fabrics gave the trench a contemporary feel, and designers finally embraced color when it came to bringing something neoteric to an age-old design.  Of course there is nothing wrong with the classic — which can be paired with everything from suits to jeans and a t-shirt. But if you are daring and opt for the red trench, work the playful color with a dark sweater vest and complimentary tie.  With such a large display of color, you want the rest of your outfit to compliment rather than compete.
