But of course, the best thing about Hawaii besides from the beach is the nightlife, when the streets crowd with people of all ages. The streets of Waikiki are lined with bars, each with a different ambiance and personality. The drinks aren’t cheap in these tourist-clad streets, but venturing out is worth the experience and price; you’ll meet people from all over the world.
After a night of bars and clubs, you’ll be craving food from all those drinks. Where do you go for a late night bite? Bar 35 on 35 N. Hotel St., between Nu'uanu Avenue and Smith Street serves up delicious fresh-from-the-oven pizza that is sure to win you over any night of the week, regardless of coherence. Also including a great beer selection, this place is another party on its own. With hard-to-find beers at $4 each and a local hit called “fusion pizza,” it’s a popular destination after the Friday bar crawl.
After a night of raging, you could also head to the 24-hour Wailana Coffee Shop. This diner serves up an American menu of cheeseburgers, fries, and bacon and eggs to name a few. The prices are around $9-12 for a generous entrée that will put you into food coma. Located at 1860 Ala Moana at 'Ena Road, the place is quite a hike from the popular tourist area of Waikiki, but only a short bus or taxi ride away.
Heading to Hawaii in autumn is the most practical plan, so why wait for the crowds when tickets are cheap and weather is more bearable than the summer months? Imagine relaxing on a warm beach away from the hustle and bustle of the city, checking out hot ladies and chilling with your boys. Mahalo and aloha to that.
