The end of summer causes the tourists to flood out, which means the prices have dropped significantly. Don’t get me wrong, the Islands are not totally abandoned of tourists; people everywhere come to Hawaii year-round to relax.

But this is not a weekend getaway from the city. If you do have a week to spare, then vacationing to Hawaii should be your target.

There are six Hawaiian Islands: the Big island of Hawaii, Maui, Lanai, Molokai, Oahu and Kauai. While every single island is spectacular in its own distinction, most go to Oahu, hence its nickname, “The Gathering Place.” Oahu hosts millions of visitors every year and is the most tourist-friendly in the archipelago. Waikiki beach is where vacationers flock to because of the warmth of the ocean and clean beaches.

If you’re thinking about visiting the other islands, it is highly suggested that you take an inter-island tour, since they are not as commercialized as Oahu. The other five islands require cars to better access tourist sites, and public transportation is not as reliable as those in Oahu. Prices vary for these tours, but they are cheaper if you purchase them when you are already on the island. Travel agencies knock each other over to sell you these tours, and as long as the agency is legit, you should be fine.
