History of the Regatta Jacket
Regatta jackets have their roots firmly in the culture of British boarding schools and are widely thought to be the precursor to modern day sports jackets. At sporting events, students wore these colorful blazers with their school colors to support their teams and at more formal events at the school. Today, they tend to be more relics of British sports, such as crew, but you can still see them out in full force at big events like the Henley Royal Regatta, the Wimbledon of rowing.
