All right, you`ve just arrived at the greatest shopping city in the world and you are ready to hit the pavement. One problem:
you have no idea where to go. Sure New York City is thriving with stores that range from the
thrift to the
boutique, but with so many options, it can be hard to plan a proper strategy. Fear not. We`ve done the editing for you and provided you with a well-rounded shopping guide that will get you properly dressed from head to toe.
Saks Fifth Avenue - Launch Website/Launch Map

If you have to pick one department store, pick Saks. Their menswear collections are neatly displayed on two floors and their sectional division by designer makes browsing easy. Particularly fruitful is their denim section, where you can find everything from Levi`s to Rock & Republic. Things get a bit rifled throughout the day, but, for the most part, you can find any style jean you need. They also have a good selection of shoes, jewelry and sunglasses for those looking for ornamentation.
Andy`s Chee Pees - Launch Website/Launch Map
Looking for vintage? You want Andy`s. Granted most of the garments aren`t at what you would call “vintage prices,” but hey, it`s New York City. You won`t pay 25 cents for a t-shirt, but you can still find great leather jackets, cool vests and shirts that weren`t designed to look so vintage, but really are vintage.
The owner can cop an attitude every now and then, so don`t complain about prices and just realize you are getting one-of-a-kind pieces.
Opening Ceremony - Launch Website/Launch Map

The name makes you think of the Olympics for good reason - the idea behind the store is to pit American designers against other foreign brands to see whose fashion reigns supreme. It`s a rather ingenious idea, and great for those men who are always seeking out something new. The store has been a launch pad for a number of oversees designers, many of who are now seeing great success in the States.
Opening Ceremony`s self-titled brand is also starting to get plenty of notoriety itself. What`s also great about Opening Ceremony is that it works with any budget. You can find garments ranging from a $4,000 suit to a $20 t-shirt, and everything in between. They recently added shoes to their store floor, and expect to see expansions into home living and furniture in the near future.
Freeman`s Sporting Club - Launch Website/Launch Map

Many New Yorkers know the name “Freeman`s” as it pertains to the
quaint eatery that`s nestled at the end of Freeman Alley. But, as of late, many fashionable men are beginning to extend that reference to the Freeman`s clothing store of the same restaurant owner. The restaurant is a taxidermists dream. Expect to find a mounted head towering above your table as you dine on macaroni and cheese.
With that in mind, Freeman`s clothing aesthetic reminds one of the hipster huntsmen. Vintage fabrics, classic denim and made to order suits in rustic designs are the key players in the collection. And, in case you ran out without a
proper shave, Freeman`s also operates a full service barbershop with the best close shave in the city.
Barker Black - Launch Website/Launch Map

Shoes. This is why you come to Barker Black. It`s their specialty, and for good reason. You`ll find oxfords, loafers and boots of all sorts, colors and skins, and every pair is exquisitely crafted. There isn`t much more to say about Barker Black except that when you need shoes, it`s where you go. Although you may not be going that often—this footwear lasts forever.
ALife Rivington Club - Launch Website/Launch Map
While your down on the
Lower East Side checking out a number of other stores on this list, you might as well take a peek in ALife Rivington Club for perhaps the best tennis shoes you`ll ever see. They carry every brand imaginable (Nike, Adidas, Puma, New Balance) and they are all specialized by shoe artists and other designers. Women often judge a man by his shoes. If that`s the case, get to ALife, now.
BBlessing - Launch Website/Launch Map

The first thing you may notice at this Lower East Side boutique are the floor lamps hanging upside down from the ceiling or rotating displays of artwork. But the clothing is equally as creative as the decor. Come browse through BBLessing for sneakers, sweatshirts, jeans, blazers, striped button-downs, and
edgy print t-shirts. Top designers as well as
up and comers adorn the racks, and be sure to take a look at the macabre jewelry featuring pieces designed like mounted deer heads.
