Shawl Sweaters - A Warming Trend

About the Shawl Sweater: The shawl sweater (aka shawl neck sweater) is both practical and distinctive – and quite popular this season. The shawl sweater is built with excess material around the neckline, that when unbuttoned, flows quite handsomely. However, when buttoned, the shawl neck scrunches to form air pockets between layers of material, and as any fashionable physicist knows, air is an excellent insulator. Cable-knit cotton or cashmere, the shawl sweater will make a warm welcome addition to your wardrobe.

How to wear a shawl sweater: The shawl sweater can be worn casually with a crew neck tee, jeans, and a pair of boots. For a more professional look, combine the shawl with a pair of flat front slacks and a shirt and tie. A shawl neck cardigan is best complimented by a shirt with a collar – with or without a tie.
