What`s a good cross between casual and formal footwear that I can wear on an everyday basis? I have to do a lot of walking so comfort is important, but I still want to look professional and classic.

I consider loafers to be the most comfortable of the dress shoes, as long as they have a rubber sole.   But, they certainly aren`t exempt from becoming uncomfortable after long hours of wear.  Luckily, a number of shoe designers have made fashionable yet comfortable shoes that transition easily from the office to the street.  Some call them “runner” loafers because they have a somewhat athletic treatment to the sole, but they are still sophisticated enough for a suit.

In fact, I prefer them because they contemporize a normal suit and tie combo and give a modern flare to an outfit.  And, as I said, they`ll look just as good with jeans or causal khakis for a night out.  Designers from Kenneth Cole to Ferragamo make their own version, meaning there is variety enough to find the perfect pair to match your wardrobe.
