Best Quickie – Dean & Deluca, New York Times Café, Midtown
It would be a crying shame to ignore the fast food variety, even if it is gourmet fast food. Picture this – a man walks into a Dean & Deluca on his lunch break. He’s stopped by a man in a white chef’s coat carrying a tray full of tasty-looking hamburgers. The chef offers him a burger – for free! The man, an avid burger eater, and a reader of Debonair cannot resist the temptation despite his desire to cut down on red meat between the hours of 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. He takes the burger. He takes a bite. He is hooked. So much for cutting back. “They’ve tried to recreate the Shake Shack burger, but they have come up with something EVEN BETTER,” he says. Point taken. As delicious as the Shake Shack burger may be, you need to arrive an hour before you think you’ll be hungry. At D&D they have no such lines. This burger may have been a secret for a while, but no longer. We’re on to you, Dean & Deluca.

Good article but I don’t agree with the verdict.
First the best burger has to be Molly’s Pub & Shebeen, it is a classic burger but bigger and it is so much better then Stand (was not a fan of the stand burger but the toasted marshmallow milk shake was awesome). Next the Canadian Bacon at Peter Luger is way better then the bacon at Corner Bistro (but more expensive unless you go for the lunch special). Finally the best veggie burger is at Houston’s it may be a chain but the burger is fantastic.
I particularly like the Shake Shack by 23rd st.
