Best Gourmet – Peter Luger, Williamsburg, Brooklyn / Great Neck, Long Island
According to one reader – a man who apparently knows his burgers, says “Bar none, no burger can touch these for quality. Best. Burger. Ever. Sides are terrific – well done French fries, awesome bacon, and fresh lettuce/tomato/pickle (if you like a salad on your burger). Price is reasonable as well, considering the quality of restaurant you’re eating at.” For those of you who have eaten at Peter Luger you know there’s no mistaking the quality of their meats. The porterhouse steak for 2 is probably one of the greatest steak creations. And if that says anything, then you know their burger at $7.95 for the burger plus $1.50 for cheese, $2.50 for bacon, and only an additional $1.95 for fries is well worth it.

Good article but I don’t agree with the verdict.
First the best burger has to be Molly’s Pub & Shebeen, it is a classic burger but bigger and it is so much better then Stand (was not a fan of the stand burger but the toasted marshmallow milk shake was awesome). Next the Canadian Bacon at Peter Luger is way better then the bacon at Corner Bistro (but more expensive unless you go for the lunch special). Finally the best veggie burger is at Houston’s it may be a chain but the burger is fantastic.
I particularly like the Shake Shack by 23rd st.
