Burger Shoppe Sliders

This place takes two cakes (…or burgers). Head down to the ground level space during your lunch break if you’re one of those financial people who still has a job and try any one of their burgers or other sandwiches ranging in price from $4.50 to $7 including one named after our current president. Or you can do what we do, and wait until after dark when the second floor bar area opens. Then, my friends are you in for a real treat. When they first opened about a year ago (or maybe more) they had an appetizer modeled after the signature dish at Fergus Henderson’s St. John in London, UK – roasted bone marrow. This is a dish so perfect you’ll wonder why you ever threw away all your bones after finishing your veal chops. They roast the marrow in the bone (about 4”). You scoop it out, spread it on toast, and top it with flat leaf parsley salad, and some coarse salt. Perfection. Why Burger Shoppe removed it from the menu is a mystery. However, they still have two burger plates that can carry the torch.
First is the Bar Room Burger – a char-grilled beef burger topped with gruyere, crispy braised pork belly, and sautéed mushrooms and onions, served with fries for $18. The burger is quite pleasant by itself, but the cheese and pork take it to another level. If you’re not into that sort of thing, and prefer your burgers to be small and plentiful try the Shoppe Sliders. For $9 you get three mini Shoppe Burgers served with cheese and lettuce, and their special Shoppe Sauce. You get plenty of food, and they’re quite tasty. They also serve a Kobe Beef burger for $175 named after Pocket Change blogger Richard Nouveau.

Good article but I don’t agree with the verdict.

First the best burger has to be Molly’s Pub & Shebeen, it is a classic burger but bigger and it is so much better then Stand (was not a fan of the stand burger but the toasted marshmallow milk shake was awesome). Next the Canadian Bacon at Peter Luger is way better then the bacon at Corner Bistro (but more expensive unless you go for the lunch special). Finally the best veggie burger is at Houston’s it may be a chain but the burger is fantastic.
