Best Bunless – Walkers, Tribeca, Manhattan
Our journey through the great land of burgers ends downtown at one old-school New York City establishments, Walker’s. They have fantastic chicken, pasta, wings, steak, and sandwiches. They make a superb 8oz sirloin burger. However, if you feel like a burger, but not the bun, and hate to waste a good bun, order the Walker’s Chopped Sirloin Steak. For $9.25 you get the same 8oz of beef prepared with a green peppercorn demi glace, and served with mashed potatoes and the daily vegetable. They also have a respectable selection of bottle and tap beers, wines, and cocktails. Sit in the bar area where it’s lively and the games are on TV, or take a more romantic table in the back where you can enjoy the quiet, candlelight, and crayons for drawing on the paper tablecloth. If you still have room after your meal, try one of their special desserts made fresh daily. Who ever has room?

Good article but I don’t agree with the verdict.
First the best burger has to be Molly’s Pub & Shebeen, it is a classic burger but bigger and it is so much better then Stand (was not a fan of the stand burger but the toasted marshmallow milk shake was awesome). Next the Canadian Bacon at Peter Luger is way better then the bacon at Corner Bistro (but more expensive unless you go for the lunch special). Finally the best veggie burger is at Houston’s it may be a chain but the burger is fantastic.
I particularly like the Shake Shack by 23rd st.
