Must Know Music - The Albums of April
Posted: Tuesday, March 20, 2007
By: Peter Flores

The Debonair man must always keep up a conversation – especially when it comes to music. These are the top 5 artists that we think will make it rain in April…

1. "Because of the Times"- Kings of Leon (April 3)
This Nashville bred quartet jumped into the music world a few summers ago with their innovative rock sound and a touch of bluegrass soul. Their third album Kings of Leon looks to establish a position in the Indie rock scene and prove that their music is more than just clever noise.
(Freshest track "On Call")

2. "Get Money--Stay True"- Paul Wall (April 3)
Mr. Grillz himself continues the South's continued hit making ability with an album full of beats to bounce to. With proven powerhouse producers such as Jermaine Dupri on board, Paul Wall and his mouth full of diamonds delivers an album that is sure to be in heavy rotation in the nations club scene.
(Freshest track "I'm Throwed' feat. Jermaine Dupri)

3. "The Best Damn Thing"- Avril Lavigne (April 17)
From skater girl, to pin up, back to skater girl - Avril Lavigne returns to the proven formula of success with her punk-infused new release. The girl-power vibe of the album can be best described as the “lead album on the iPod of Cher from Clueless.”
(Freshest track "Girlfriend")

4. "Spells"- The Comas (April 17)
This burgeoning Brooklyn band sounds like a rockin-psychedelic cocktail with the musical chops to boot. Think of their music as a lava lamp atmosphere...in the middle of an earthquake. The Brooklyn stigma holds true with this new album, and The Comas definitely represent.
(Freshest track "Red Microphones")

5. "Know Me"- Ne-Yo (April 24th)
Ne-yo's sophomore effort titled "Know Me" is literally asking you to find out who Ne-Yo has become. The young artist shows growth and maturity on this album in his quest to expand his fan base to an older audience. With his polished voice, Ne-Yo still has the faster, more vibrant tracks to keep his younger fans listening but is definitely headed in the right direction musically.
(Freshest track "Because of You")
