We`re in the final stages of the winter months (or early stage of spring depending how you look at it), and some of you out there still haven`t adapted your wardrobe. January and February can easily be the coldest months of the year, meaning you still might have some work to do to be fully prepared. Good thing for you stores are starting to roll out their spring collections - meaning you can get some great looking winter pieces at a fraction of the price. Here`s Debonair`s guide to finishing up winter, and looking forward to spring.
How To Buy A Fashionable Winter Scarf
This may seem like a no-brainer, but too many men out there have
bad scarves that are even worse when worn wrong.
Every man needs three scarves: a
solid cashmere, a heavy striped knit, and a short patterned wool. For the cashmere, stick with the extremes of the color spectrum—black or light gray. For the knit, chunky is okay, but make sure the stripes are easy on the eye or arresting in the right way. Throw it around your neck with a casual outfit, like a jean jacket and some broken in khakis. With that patterned scarf, the embellishment should be classic and understated—think fine plaid or a thin pin stripe. Wear this with a suit and tie it like an Italian: fold it in half, wrap around your neck and pull the loose end through the loop. Perfetto.
How To Buy And Wear A Men`s Overcoat
Overcoats can, without very much effort, become one of the most offensive and unflattering garments on a man. Many guys buy them far too big and end up swimming in material. Your overcoat should be the same
size as your suit, so no matter if you wear it with that suit or a casual outfit it fits your body correctly. These coats are made with a lot of fabric, so the slimmer the better. You want to keep your body`s silhouette, not engorge it. This is especially true if you are opting for the double-breasted version, in which case, less is certainly more.
