Five New Classic Watches For Around (or Under) $5000.

The MIH Watch: Despite the minimalist design, the MIH watch is fairly complicated, and that’s what makes it so wonderful. The timepiece is sold through the Musée International d‘Horlogerie, or international horology museum in Switzerland. The concept was to take a simple movement, the Valjoux 7750 (the same as used in the Maurice de Mauriac) and make it more complicated while keeping the price relatively low. Master watchmakers Paul Gerber and Ludwig Oechslin, who are both true masters of haute horology, created an actual annual calendar (accounts of varying lengths of months automatically) AND one-button chronograph just by adding nine parts. The MIH watch is not well known, but it is the easiest way to own a horological masterpiece. It is the least expensive annual calendar on the planet, and one of the simplest one-button chronographs as well. The case is made from titanium and it comes on a rubber strap.
