A Bite of Breckenridge. Full course dinners can be enjoyed from $15 to $25. During this same time period, the Town of Breckenridge will have its Spring Massive Shopping event, where you can get great prices on gear. There will be a Julian Marley concert at the Mountain on April 21st. For inexpensive lodging, check out the
Fireside Inn.
After AprilLoveland Ski Area is a Colorado local's hangout. It has been known to stay open as late as July, depending upon conditions. Even during high season, lift tickets are relatively inexpensive. Unlike other Colorado resorts, Loveland has free parking, right near the lifts. It is located in historic Georgetown, which is a fun place to visit in its own right.
Arapahoe Basin is the other "local's ski area." Every year, Loveland and A-Basin engage in a competition to see who will be the first to open and the last to close. While lift ticket prices may vary from day to day, after April, they will stay under $50. You can find super cheap lodging at the
Days Inn at Silverthorne and the Super 8 in Dillon Valley.
This spring, why not ski like a local and explore Colorado. The only thing you will miss is the crowd!
