On this day 43 years ago The Beatles released the record Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. Transforming their look from monochromatic suits and mop top haircuts to Fu Manchu moustaches and quite the colorful garb, Sgt. Peppers introduced psychedilia to mainstream culture.
This video of Strawberry Fields Forever would prove to be the watershed moment of this change. The first single released before Sgt. Peppers, the video was the first time the public at large saw The Beatles in 4 months. Comparatively tame for the standards to today, it was quite a shock for ‘67. Enter the summer of love.
