RadarGolf – BPS System

radargolf

We have all seen or heard the acronym of G.P.S (or Global Positioning System) which is used to find yourself in the world.  Now, by way of RadarGolf, the world of golf is presented with the golden acronym B.P.S (or Ball Positioning System) which is used to find your ball on the course.  The system – available for $199.95 – contains 2 central components; a hand-held radar device, and of course, the ball.  Yes, you only get one ball – I guess the thought is one is all you’ll need.  But if not, an additional dozen can be purchased for an $39.95.  Fitted with micro-chip technology embedded in its core, these U.S.G.A approved golf balls emit a radio frequency that is then received by the hand-held device (the closer the ball the louder the frequency).  A nice relationship.  Aptly stated by RadarGolf, the average golfer in North America shoots a 97.  This system may or may not improve that score, but hopefully it will help all of us in the pace of play impeded by those looking for their balls.

miShare-File-Sharing of One iPod to Another

mishredebonairblog
There is a lot of sharing going on these days.  Our parents must be proud.  With the emergence of social media outlets, file-sharing networks and all the like mediums, we have become the sharing generation, one might say.  As of yet, one thing we have been unable to share, however, is music from our iPod.  With the creation of the product miShare – the device that allows for the direct connection and file-sharing of one iPod to another – our sharing is caring spree can continue.

Moooi Smoke Armchair

smokechair1

Creation by means of destruction is the concept behind this leather armchair designed by Maarten Baas.  The charred appearance of the wood, which has been coated in ebony and upholstered in black leather, does not come artificially by way of machine but rather by natural chemical reaction.  The wood has been “finished with fire” – that is, actually burned.  This aesthetic also provides the consumer with a uniqueness, as each piece is distinct due to the nature of its construction.  This may be one reason for the hefty price tag, $4,490.00 (Matter).  Nonetheless, the “smoke armchair” pun is appropriate here.

Want Essentials – iPhone Case

prod_portela_lg_1

Yes, perhaps it is just another impediment between you and the glorious applications on your iPhone – aside from your pocket.  But for those of us who are not glued to the ever-expanding world of the iPhone apps, those of us who can spare the extra second, Want Essentials offers a sophisticated leather-bound case.  It is minimal in its style, soft leather with one zipper wrapping three-sides, and its functionality, two bands holding the device in place.  Priced at $150, it does the job with a little style.

OWLE

Isn’t the purpose of a camera-phone such that you don’t have to carry multiple apparatus; that convenience is leveraged against quality?  There are, though, inevitably those instances where a higher photo/video resolution option is preferable to the capabilities available on your iPhone.  It does seem counterintuitive that under such circumstances an iPhone attachment would be the preferred method of achieving this desired result.  But for those iPhone (and I guess general Mac) enthusiasts, this method is now available via the OWLE apparatus.

43 Years Ago Today-The Beatles Released the Record Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band.

On this day 43 years ago The Beatles released the record Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band.  Transforming their look from monochromatic suits and mop top haircuts to Fu Manchu moustaches and quite the colorful garb, Sgt. Peppers introduced psychedilia to mainstream culture.

This video of Strawberry Fields Forever would prove to be the watershed moment of this change.  The first single released before Sgt. Peppers, the video was the first time the public at large saw The Beatles in 4 months. Comparatively tame for the standards to today, it was quite a shock for ‘67.  Enter the summer of love.

Kerchoonz K-Box Speaker

k-box

Music seems to be the only art form whereby fidelity is diminishing as technology is advancing.  And we buy right into it.  Think about it.  When you are about to watch a movie no one willingly watches VHS.  And why?  Because technology has allowed for picture quality to be enhanced.  DVD, Blu-Ray, IMAX, 3-D, HD have all afforded a higher viewing fidelity of motion pictures.  Yet the most common way people listen to music is through MP3.  Fidelity lessened.  And now, with the advent of products like the K-Box Speaker, the listening quality diminishes still further.  Instead of speakers, for $75 you now you get to listen to music through the medium of a wall (I am sure your neighbors will be thrilled).
